This is the Annual Technicial Training Conference that GAFM holds each year. This year's conference will be held in Columbus, GA.
September 20 -24, 2010 GAFM sponsorship of FEMA's week-long floodplain management training course - L273

Where: Pooler City Hall (Courtroom), 100 SW Highway 80, Pooler, GA 31322

There is No Charge to attend the training course. At the conclusion of the course on the 24th the CFM exam will be offered. Visit ASFPM to learn more about the CFM Program and to separately register for the exam. February 24, 2010 Overview of FEMA Floodproofing Requirements for Commercial Buildings

Before a floodproofed building is designed, numerous planning considerations, including flood warning time, uses of the building, mode of entry to and exit from the building and the site in general, floodwater velocities, flood depths, debris impact potential, and flood frequency, must be addressed to ensure that dry floodproofing will be a viable floodplain management tool.
